Lightstream stood up stiffly, and began padding into the cool undergrowth again.

Mouseshadow stretched, then followed her deputy, now looking forward to a VERY long nap. She hadn't gotten much sleep the day before and had to stifle a huge yawn.

Lightstream padded gloomily through bushes, wondering when they are going to end this hunt and go back to camp.

After a few more minutes passed and nothing interesting happened, Mouseshadow stopped. "Uh, Lightstream... Can we go back to camp now? I'm sort of tired." she meowed.
ooc: I think we should end this thread pretty soon. It's quite boring.

ooc - well, we could make this thread interesting... or we can just finish it. Up to you, Mousey. And because of that, I'm not going to reply to IC until you make the decision.

Before Lightstream could answer Mouseshadow's question, she scented a strange smell. It smelled like crow-food... and some others. Beckoning with her tail, to signaled Mouseshadow to follow as she let her nose lead her to whatever it was that she scented.

Mouseshadow sensed Lightstream's anxiety and picked up the smell of crow-food. Forgetting all about her tiredness, she silently followed Lightstream through the forest towards the strange smell.

Lightstream paused a bit to let Mouseshadow catch up to her. "What do you think it is?" she whispered into her ear.
ooc - Mousey, you can choose what that thing is... In fact, I have no idea what it would be. *sighs* My imagination failed me.

"I'm not sure," Mouseshadow replied very quietly "We should warn the Clan at the very least, but probably we should see. Doesn't smell like a cat at all. Maybe its a fox or a dog"
ooc: I couldn't think of anything else.

ooc - Let's just say it's a stray dog, from the garbage trash. XD
"I think we should go and see it ourselves first." Lightstream agreed. Her tail twitched nervously, then she hoped that Mouseshadow didn't notice. What if it's a twoleg? What if it's a monster from a Thunderpath?

Mouseshadow began creeping towards the smell. She was very nervous, but she didn't consider backing out of this for a moment. The Clan had to come first and she felt that she would die for any cat in ForestClan. This feeling gave her strength to face whatever the smell was coming from.

Lightstream flexed her claws in the dirt, and dropped into a crouch. The smell was much stronger now, and the scent was fresh. Then she picked up the sound of paws drumming on the ground, and the rustle of fern and bushes. For the first time, she scented something else under the smell of crow-food. She tried to wrap her mind around it, to figure out what it was. "Dog!" she suddenly yowled, and sprang out of the bushes so quickly that she almost flew into a tree.

Mouseshadow quickly followed Lightstream and settled on a branch where she could see, but not be seen. "Why did you have to yowl o loudly?" she hissed furiously at Lightstream, "Now they know we're here."Farther below them she could see the dogs beside the trash bin. "There are two or three of them." she told Lightstream.
ooc:Mouseshadow isn't actually that angry, but she's sort of scared and takes her temper out on Lightstream

ooc - that's fine.
Lightstream quickly clawed up the nearest tree, which was the one Mouseshadow was hiding in. "Sorry," she mumbled, and swept her gaze across the grass and bushes. "They are near now," she whispered urgently, "get ready. The best way is to jump right on top of them."
