Snowveil sat at the edge of the marsh, careful to keep weight off her injured foreleg. Crystalpool and Shadowpaw had done their best to heal it, but the warrior still walked with a limp. Nightshade's teeth had left deep scars on the paw, and she couldn't use two of her claws. She sighed as she looked at her reflection in the dark water. Troubled thoughts ran through her mind, thoughts she tried to ignore. My life is so meaningless. Hunt, fight, eat, sleep... There's nothing important to it. There's nothing that lasts. She closed her emerald eyes. I wish I had died in the battle...

Swifttail was wondering the forest ramdomly, trying to get out of the tedium of a slow day. He spotted Snowviel when he was near the marsh. He walked up to her, noticing that she seemed to be a little depressed. "Snowviel?" he called out cautiosly. "Are you ok?" He realized that she might be a little irritated at the question, but he really couldn't think of anything else to say. He hoped that she wouldn't snap at him. He really hated it when he was just trying to help someone and they started yelling at him because "they didn't need help." Yeah, right. They- that is, Snowviel- was obviously struggling with something.

Snowveil flicked an ear as she heard light pawsteps behind her, but did not bother to turn around. She blinked as she heard Swifttail's voice. The warrior idly batted at a reed, stalling. How much should I tell him? "...I'm pretty tired, but other than that I'm okay,' she said after a while. "Dawn patrol this morning, and i haven't been sleeping well."

Swifttail nodded. Riiight, he felt like saying. She was obviously hiding something. Everyone claimed that they were tired when they were depressed. He didn't somment, though. If Snowviel didn't feel like telling him, then he wasn't going to press her. "That's to bad." he eventually commented. His voice was bland and emotionless, showing that he really didn't care about her "tiredness," he would care when she decided to tell him what was really the matter.

Crystalpool was slightly wary after her recent talk with Shadowpaw. does he not want to be a medicine cat? she wondered despairingly. Blindly padding around, she found herself in the marshes. "Oh... hi." Crystalpool bumped into Snowveil and Swifttail. Her gaze downcast, she fumbled around them, then finally gave up and sat silently by her fellow clanmates.

Snowveil flicked an ear as Crystalpool came over. Can't a cat brood in peace? But even she knew better than to be rude to a medicine cat. "Hello, Crystalpool," she said softly, in a voice barely louder than the breeze. "How are you?" She curled her plumy tail tightly around her paws, and went back to looking at her reflection in the water. She didn't know if they were talking to her or not. The warrior heard nothing.

Cloudmist was wanting to find a hunting patrol to go hunting with her and Talonheart was too busy most of the time and she trotted out to the Marsh to see if any cats were there. She found her friend ((is it okii if Snowveil and her are friends? if not, I'll change my post)))), Snowveil, and Crystalpool and Swifttail, by the murky water. "Hello," she murmured to Crystalpool and Swifttail. Then she slipped over to Snowveil and touched her nose to the she-cat's shoulder. "Is everything all right?" she whispered. The tortoiseshell knew everything wasn't all right; she knew her friend better than to pass off an , 'I'm okay'.

Snowveil looked up as Cloudmist approached, and her heart sank even further. There was no way her friend would believe her if she said she was okay. Snowveil turned to face the others, but kept her emerald eyes studying the grass. She couldn't bring herself to meet their eyes. "No, I'm not okay!" she burst out. "I killed a cat at the battle with the rogues. I'm a murderer!' She couldn't bring herself to add her greatest fear: that the other stormClan cats would shun her for what she had done.

Cloudmist pressed her nose to Snowveil's muzzle. Her sparkling green eyes understanding, "No," she mewed softly, her expression gentle with sympathy and friendship. "It's not your fault. You were defending yourself, you can't say you did that on purpose." Making an effort to comfort her friend, she smiled slightly and told her, "I sort of know how you feel. When I was a fairly new warrior, Galestar gave me Twigpaw, my first apprentice. I was so excited, but then one day we were hunting and she saw me across the Thunderpath. There was a monster coming, but she wanted to let me see how much prey she had caught and the monster crushed her," eyes bright with sadness, she curled her tail to touch Snowveil's shoudler.

Swifttail flicked his tail casualy in greeting to Crystalpool and nodded to Cloudmist as they walked up. He did a bit of a double-take when he remembered that Cloudmist and Snowviel were friends. Maybe she would get to the sulking she-cat. He listened carefully when she finnaly told the what was bothering her. In all honesty, he was a little stunned. He really hadn't expected Snowviel to be worrying about that. He had not killed a cat, so he didn't know what it would be like, he suposed, but she didn't kill a Clan cat, right? Just a roge. "Does it even count if it was rogue?" he asked, partialy curious but also trying to sooth Snowviel. He hadn't even noticed that Cloudmist seemed to have pretty well under control.

Snowveil nodded mutely, thanking her friends for their comfort. She twitched her tail back and forth a few times, thinking, and then spoke. "I'm sorry I've been so depressed lately. I've been thinking about just myself, not StormClan. My problems just seemed so huge..." She trailed off awkwardly, not sure where she was going with this. "Thank you," she meowed finally. "I'll try to start looking on the bright side again."
