And yet another clarification, let's have that first: Both members with ranking characters and staff members will still be allowed to have five characters, as opposed to the regular max of four. Again, that doesn't necessarily mean they should, it just means they can if they can handle roleplaying that many charries actively.
Now, the new rule. From now on, because of activity reasons and fairness to everyone on the site, any staff member or ranking character that has been unable to get on at least once every few days for a max of one month without explanation or two months with explanation will be removed from their position. This is as of 2008, takes effect now, and will probably not be as strict and hard core as I feel like I'm making it sound. No deletion, just removal from position, but I'm serious about it. I really feel that it's important to have active people to keep the site going and the roleplaying headed in the right direction. At the end of February the first check for inactive staff/ranking characters will be made.
If you think this is a good idea, or that I'm being horribly unfair, please pm me with feedback. Thankies. ^^

I think that's a great idea, but will other people be found to replace them or will the staff/ranking char. population dwindle? Because we have a huge portion of staff/ranking characters...

That sounds like a good idea. EmberClan specifically lost both Flameheart and Blazestar, and the activity plummeted. So, changing them out when the member is unactive soulds like a good way to make sure that FWC doesn't die.

So is "with explanation" if you don't have access to a computer or something?

Yes, all ranking positions will definitely be filled if people have to leave, and the same will probably go for the staff. I really dislike the fact that activity is so often out of peoples' control, but I feel it's important to be as fair as possible to as many people as possible.
"With explanation" is if someone has a good reason for not be able to get on. Losing their computer or having trouble with it working, taking a huge trip somewhere without computer access, getting grounded...anything like that. The important part is that there's a reason, and that the person lets me know about it in advance.

Sounds great, just a heads-up, as some of you know, I have exams frequently, as such, cannot get on, so I may be unactive sometimes. Anyway, Great job with the new system, sounds like it'll work quite well.
