A pair of black paws padded silently along. THe rain had stopped, for a while, and Glacierfrost couldn't rest. He had stepped outside to rest his mind.
The stars above his head were shining brightly, reminding him of Freewind. His sister had died when a tree landed on her, snapping her spine. His felt moist, but no tears fell. He had shed enough already.
His mind wandered to the rivalry between Emberclan and Stormclan. Lots of blood had been shed at the fight when the clans first gathered. He had seen what some cats had looked when the fight ended. Some had even died. And over stolent prey, too! The large tom thought bitterly.
He sighed, and sat underneath an oak. The stars twinkled, as if agreeing with him. Then, he heard paw steps behind him. He turned around.

((ForestClan and ShoreClan only right or did you change it and anyone is welcome now?))
Twilightsong was restless since being underground for so long felt alien to him. So it was with great relief that he noticed after awhile that it had stopped raining as he didn't hear any falling anymore. Eagerly, but quietly, he picked himself up and silently slipped out of the cave the rest of the ShoreClan cats were sleeping in. The prospect of fresh air was just too much to pass up.
As he exited the tunnel, he took a deep whiff of the fresh air and sighed contentedly. Now this was more like it. His eyes gazed upwards where the clouds had broken and Silverpelt glittered overhead brightly. Enjoying the sight, it took him a minute to realize he wasn't alone. Looking over he saw the other cat there was Glacierfrost, one of the Warriors of ShoreClan. Padding over to the male he softly called a greeting. "Hello Glacierfrost. Nice night isn't it?" He knew of Freewind's death and mourned her as well. Part of him wasn't sure what to say to the tom, but didn't want the male to feel like he was being ignored either.

Ripplestream slipped out of the cave when a twig snapped nearby and she heard some cat talking. The medicine cat glimpsed the lean shape of two cats...ShoreClan scent too. Wondering what was going on, she padded quietly towards the two cats; getting closer she realized they were Twilightsong and Glacierfrost. As she looked at Glaicierfrost, she thought of Freewind, his sister, who had been killed by a falling tree. The whole Clan had mourned the death and a fresh wave of grief washed over her as she remembered her own brother, Pebblestone, killed by a badger. The silver blue she-cat nodded to both toms and sat down silently, not knowing what to say.

Glacierfrost was starteled when he saw the Shoreclan deputy appear. Apparently, another cat felt the need to breathe in the fresh night air. He dipped his head in greeting. "Hello, Twilightsong," He regained a bit of his old jolliness. "Yeah, it is. Wish Freewind could've seen this, scept she's already one with hte stars!"
The large tom glanced at Ripplestream came by an sat down with them. She looked sad, and Glacierfrost's mind went to Pebblestone, who had also died. Glacierfrost had great respect for the deceased warrior, and was sad to have him join the ranks of Starclan. He went somber, thinking of all the cats that died since the flood. He stared down at his paws, wondering what to say.

"Beautiful sky, isn't it?" Ripplestream murmured quietly, almost too quiet for the other cats to hear. Her amber green gaze was fixed on the stars, as if looking for signs that Pebblestone was there...watching over her, like he did when he was still alive.
Pebblestone, where are you? she asked inwardly. Ever since her brother had gone to join StarClan, she had not heard a thing. No insistent voices in her dreams, no little signs in the rocks or streams, no visions of the gray tom, nothing. She turned to look at Glacierfrost, "I'm sorry about Freewind," she whispered gently, as if the night was so fragile, it would break if she spoke louder.

Seamist padded over to where her Clanmates were gathered. "Hello," she mewed softly. Somehow, it seemed appropriate to speak in a hushed voice; the atmosphere seemed charged with depression and reminiscing. She dipped her head to Glacierfrost and Twilightsong, and somewhat tentatively to Ripplestream. Hopefully, she'd forgive and forget their little spat. Okay, spat was an understatement, but hopefully, they'd be able to start over again. Pebblestone... Ever since he had first appeared to her as a StarClan cat, he'd been popping up in her dreams. She doubted that these were from StarClan, but she could hope, couldn't she? "Yes, it is..." she breathed. One of those stars represented Pebblestone, no doubt, and Freewind as well. So many deaths would bode ill for their Clan, and Seamist knew that the warriors would be hard pressed to keep up with the ever increasing demands of Clan life.

Ripplestream's eyes flashed. She hadn't forgotten about what Seamist had said to her, but she was ready to forgive. The tip of her silver-blue tail twitched ever so slightly and her eyes stopped flaring fire, now they were warm. She nodded and meowed quietly, shifting closer to Seamist, "Have you had any visions or dreams of Pebblestone?" she murmured, not really wanting her other Clanmates to hear. The medicine cat's eyes were pained as she continued. "I haven't yet and it's been so long!" her voice was a little anguished. She didn't want to let any other cat now how much she missed her brother and his kit-like behavior sometimes.

Glacierfrost felt himself hold his breath when Seamist joined the small group watching the stars. He knew Ripplestream and Seamist didn't go too well together. He didn't know what to say. All the cats present, save Twilightsong, lost somebody dear to them.
(Ack, sorry for the really short post!)

(I'm in a lot of threads, so I'm pulling Twi out. sorry)
Twilightsong nodded a greeting when Ripplestream joined them. All three of them had barely exchanged greetings when Seamist arrived and the tension in the air skyrocketed as both males watched to see if the two females would be civil or if a fight would break out. Thankfully both females appeared to want to bury the hatchet and Twilightsong relaxed. When the two females started whispering, Twilightsong stepped closer to Glacierfrost to give them a private moment.
Gazing up at the twinkling stars he felt at peace and smiled some. A few of those stars were cats he knew. He would always miss them, but it gave him relief to know that at night when everything was still and it wasn't cloudy that he could at least look up and know they were watching over him and the rest of the Clans now. Feeling tired suddenly, Twilightsong stood with a yawn. Bidding goodnight to the others, he slipped back inside and curled up near Midnightstar and was soon fast asleep.
