The moon glared down at Wildshadow's black glossy pelt, and reflected his shadow into the clear water. His green eyes searched for those darting silver fish in the river, his paw ready to fish them out. He noticed the river wasn't flowing so fast at where he was, so he decided to take a swim in the river, to wash off the dirt on his pelt. As he was enjoying the coolness of the water, and splashing around at the silver fish, he saw a strange looking object dangling from the riverbank. He hadn't noticed it before because the thing was well hidden in thick bushes. Curious, he swam to toward the thing, kicking his back legs so the current won't wash him right into the object. The thing, he saw, was grayish in color, and looked like a tangle of vines (a fishing net). He swam carefully closer and closer to it, wanting to know why it had got there. He had no idea that the thing was a twoleg thing because the water had washed the scent away. But all of a sudden, he was out of the slow-current area. The sudden fast-moving water almost knocked the air out of his lungs. He struggled and kicked crazily, and watched helplessly as the current carried him straight into the net. He was in the confusing tangle of ropes, struggling to find a way out. But as he struggled harder, he slowly realized the ropes were wounding around him tighter. He began gasping for breath, then went limp. "Help!" he cried hoarsely, but he doubt his voice could be carried far enough for any cat to hear.
ooc - long post, lol...

Heatherpaw, collecting watermint that grew around the banks, hummed softly to herself. The watermint was a good thing to have for bellyache. If she was lucky, she might find some horsetail for infected wounds. She heard a yowl of distress, and stood up straight, listening. She saw, over the water reeds, a shape thrashing in the water, entangled by some sort of web. Twolegs, Heatherpaw thought instantly. Putting the watermint into the reeds, she jumped into the water, pumping against the current with her paws. She caught up to the netting, feeling that it was not hardened. She began to chew through it, but knew that Wildshadow might drown if she couldn't get though it in time. It would take at least two cats to do. StarClan, help me!

"Twoleg... thing..." Wildshadow gasped, "beware... it... catchs you... and you... suffocate..." his mouth and nose went underwater, and he kicked his back legs to come up again. He felt the web tighten around his back legs, and he miserably watched Heatherpaw trying to chew through the net.

Shadowfang had heard Wildshadow's voice calling for help. He raced toward the sound and spotted the two cats recognizing Wildshadow. The black loner jumped into the water, he was a good swimmer and was able to chew on the net without much trouble from the water. He stopped chewing and hooked his claws aroundpart of the net. "We need to pull him out of the water first." Shadowfang meowed to Heatherpaw. Once they were on the shore they would have more time to think and figure out how to free Wildshadow.

Wildshadow could barely breath now that he was suffocating from the net and he was drowning. He had no strength to kick and the net was fastening itself around his legs. And then everything went black for Wildshadow.

Heatherpaw kicked the water with ther hindpaws, the netting caught in her claws. She glanced at Shadowfang. He was so calm in this situation. I have to be, too. StarClan, don't let my thoughts cloud my actions. She tried to quell her fluttering heart, and nodded to Shadowfang. Yanking upwards on the twoleg thing, it lurched upwards and dragged Wildshadow out of the water. She kicked backwards in the water, though she was not a strong swimmer. She glanced at Shadowfang with calmer silver eyes, hoping he would get the message that they needed to swim to shore now that Wildshadow was mostly out of the water, though still trapped in the twoleg thing. She didn't want to say anthing, because then he would hear the fear in her voice.

Shadowfang helped Heatherpaw pull the net free of where it was stuck and began to paddle easily toward the shore. His muzzle was dipping under the water every once in a while as he struggled slightly to pull both himself and Wildshadow to the shore.

As Wildshadow felt the air touch his nose, and he could breath a little again, he slowly opened his eyes to see himself almost to the shore. He thought he was never so glad to see something as the shore.

Darkheart scented his friends, Wildshadow, Shadowfang, and a Clan cat he didn't recognize. "Wildshadow! Shadowfang!" he saw the two black cats struggling in the water and slipped in. The dark pelted loner was used to swimming and was quite strong, he went on the other side of Wildshadow and grasped his scruff.

Wildshadow saw Darkheart coming to help. But he knew he needed to save his breath for breathing than saying "Thank you". He stayed motionless.

As they finally reached the bank of the pond, Heatherpaw was panting a bit, and she tried with all of her strength left to pull the net onto the grassy bank. She flopped down on the grass, panting a bit, then sat up and shook out her wet fur. Luckily she didn't have too long of fur so she wouldn't take that long to dry. "Are you alright?" She asked Wildshadow, not waiting for a reply but immediately scanning the area for herbs. After undoing the trap, which was unable to withstand gravity, she immediately spoted a clump of coltsfoot, hurrying its leaves over to Wildshadow. She was glad she had gotten the amount right. "Chew up and swallow the coltsfoot," She said, seperating it from the thyme. "If anyone else feels short of breath, there's enough here for everyone." She took a leaf and chewed it up well, swallowing it, sitting down by Wildshadow.

Wildshadow chewed the leaves gratefully, ignoring its weird taste. He lay on the grass, breathing heavily. He kicked at the web, slashing at them furiously.

Shadowfang sat on the shore, water rolled off his thick fur so he didn't get wet down to the skin. He was calm and breathing normaly as if he had been sitting on the shore for hours.

Glancing at Shadowfang as she sat, Heatherpaw thought for a moment. "How did you get caught in that twoleg thing?" She gestured to the tangle of vinelike twoleg stuff.

"I was swimming in the river and accidently got swept into it by a fast current... I don't know, it all happened so fast.", Wildshadow replied undecidedly. "Why don't we warn other cats to beware of the nets? Some other cats might get trapped in there... Once they are caught in there, there is no way to get free without help from other cats." he swallowed the part about what would happen if no cat heard the trapped cat's call for help.
