Cloudstorm heard Wildshadow and, though his legs ached, turned back and ran swiftly back to the other two. "What?" he repeated the question but much more quietly this time, looking first at Wildshadow, than at Darkheart.

Darkheart narrowed his amber eyes and thought to himself. How could I have let Wildshadow persuade me to let Cloudstorm not be caught by a patrol?! But then again, Wildshadow could be very persuasive.

Cloudstorm waited impatiently, his eyes narrowed in suspicion. Was this a trap? he wondered, and unsheathed his claws and sunk them deep into the ground.

Wildshadow kept his claws sheathed even when he saw that Cloudstorm had his claws unsheathed. "Is a fight necessary here?" he questioned Cloudstorm, narrowing his green eyes to a slit.

Darkheart growled and bristled beside his friend. "If you want a fight - you'll get one," he lashed his tail and bared his fangs menacingly.

"I'm looking forward to it." Cloudstorm replied coolly. "Never mind that now. Why did you call me back if you don't want a fight?"

Darkheart hissed under his breath and glared at Cloudstorm. He nudged the black cat beside him. "Wildshadow," he whispered, "Tell him."

"Across the river is ShoreClan territory," Wildshadow explained, "we called you back because we didn't want you to be caught by one of their patrols or something. Or, at least, I wanted to."

"Darkheart you foxdung!" Cloudstorm snarled furiously. Glancing at Wildshadow he added grudgingly, "Thanks." He gave Darkheart a evil glare, than turned to Wildshadow. "So, do you know any sleeping places that are relatively safe?" he asked pointedly.

Darkheart twitched his ears and growled at Cloudstorm. "Yes, we do," he answered smugly, "But you coud go and findout yourself if you're so eager to know," he glanced at Wildshadow.

"Well, there are a lot of shelters around here..." Wildshadow said, ignoring Darkheart's unfriendly comment, "depends on what kind you like. I live in a part of shadowy forest, because I usually come out at night to hunt. And Darkheart... Oh, never mind." He wasn't sure if Darkheart would like it if he told Cloudstorm where he lived.

Darkheart was about to growl at Wildshadow for almost revealing where he lived then stopped as Wildshadow trailed off. "I live in a cave," was all that the dark tabby rogue would tell the big gray loner. He glanced up at the sky and when he looked back at Cloudstorm again, a fat raindrop landed on his nose. Soon, more raindrops spattered onto the ground. He hissed crossly and took cover under some bushes.

"Great, now it's raining," Cloudstorm muttered distractedly as raindrop after heavy raindrop landed on his head and back and he shivered slightly. The sky was darkening and he was desperately tired. "Yeah, well, now I know where you two sleep, could you suggest a place for me?" he grunted. "As I am sure neither of you would want to share your shelter, and I don't fancy it much myself." Cloudstorm's pelt was already soaked, and as he became colder and more tired, he became more impatient.

Wildshadow slipped away and took shelter under some ferns. "What are you doing, standing in the rain, mousebrain?" he snapped at Cloudstorm.

Cloudstorm followed Wildshadow under the ferns. "Why is this going so slowly?" he snapped. "I asked where I can have my own territory and where can I sleep right now. Can't you answer me?" He felt fury pulse through his body. He was wet, he was cold, and he was exhausted and these two cats were still not telling him where he could sleep.
