Shadowfire sized up the new StormClan cats as he mingled amongst them, and happened to glance upon a particularily nervous-looking StormClan cat. She smelled of herbs; no doubt she was a medicine cat. "Hi," he mewed warmly, aware of how uncomfortable she was around other cats.

"Hello," mewed Crystalpool. She looked at the ground, embarrased. "I'm Crystalpool, and I'm the new medicine cat." Crystalpool puffed up a bit with pride. She looked up a little to see a nice looking tom, quite friendly looking too. THen her gaze fell again to the floor.

Shadowfire narrowed his amber eyes thoughtfully. "What's happened to Earthsong?" he mewed, half to himself. Then he turned back towards the young she-cat. "Well, I take it this is your first time with so many cats around?" he mewed, trying to keep the conversation going.

"Um, yes," Crystalpool admitted. She licked her fur self conciously, trying to sound, well, un-awkward. Crystalpool looked at all the other cats, trying to look normal and not nervous. Hello, i'm a medicine cat! she thought. Crystalpool looked at the black tom again. "Whats your name?" she asked quietly.

((Blossomkit and Cinnamonstreak are just sitting there listening.))
Twilightsong looked around the clearing again as Stonestream kept trying to stare everyone down. He personally felt the Medicine Cat was being pushy and rude, but as he was Deputy of ShoreClan and Stonestream was in EmberClan, he held his tongue. EmberClan was already hating on StormClan and Midnightstar would have his pelt for a throw rug for her den if he gave EmberClan a reason to add ShoreClan to the list of Clans they had a problem with.
He thought he spotted her in the back, but after looking back over the clearing the spot was empty and he figured his mind was playing tricks on him. Just then he felt a cat behind him, but before he could move, a paw landed on his tail. Stiffening, he then caught her scent and didn’t know if he wanted to leap for joy or knock her off the rock for having taken so long.
"Twilightsong, I'm here. Nice job, though."
Her teasing voice filled his ears with words only he could hear and his whiskers twitched as he kept a straight face. She kept tugging on his tail while he kept trying to tug it loose, but dang all his fur! Her nails were unsheathed just enough to have a grip so he couldn’t get his tail loose unless he made a big scene by standing up and yanking it or reaching a paw back and shoving her off his tail. He briefly considered shoving her for fun, but realized how bad that would look in front of four Clans, one of which he was Deputy and she was Leader of. Yeah, not smooth.
The tip of his tail twitched back and forth at her paws as he turned his head slightly towards her. “Oh yes, my fearless Leader has arrived. Gee, remind me to pull you aside later into the bushes to, ah, “update” you on what you missed.” He purred quietly to her as he flashed her a toothy grin. He wasn’t really mad at her, but dang! Why did she have to mess with his poor mind like that?! Well, at least she’d said he’d done a good job. Of course, that also meant she’d been here at least for the start of the meeting and had been hiding somewhere in the crowd. Hmm, this called for revenge and he was just the cat to cook something up. Grinning mischieviously to himself, he ran over a few ideas on how to get her back later.
"We could do that, yes, and then we'd be able to know where we're going. But it might be better if we all travel together, because there's always safety in numbers."
His ears perked up as Heatherpaw spoke up, not completely agreeing with her mentor. Though technically he’d been dismissed, since Midnightstar still had a grip on his tail, he couldn’t go anywhere so he might as well add his two cents in. Before he could, Stonestream spoke up again, looking to compromise.
"Perhaps four groups, each with three or fourcats from the first scouting party?"
Twilightsong met his gaze intensely, before realizing what he was doing and making himself stop staring the Medicine Cat down. As it was, the male turned to scan the clearing, giving him a chance to speak up. “Since every Clan sent a few of their cats to scout out the area I find that topic to be somewhat of a moot point. They obviously were going to have to lead the way regardless of if we go as one large group or four separate ones. However as the rain is nearly upon us, might I suggest we all travel together and once there we can separate into our Clans? Due to the rogues in the area, I agree with the “safety in numbers” policy. If nothing else at least we’ll all know everyone made it because everyone will be together.” He said diplomatically, though his tone suggested he would much prefer if they’d kill the chatter and just get moving already.
As the leaders took an eon to decide to go, Oakpaw was more than happy to lean over and listen as Stormpaw softly agreed to his suggestion about talking later. She mentioned not being popular with StormClan and it was only then he noticed she was getting a few tense looks from the other StormClan warriors, his mother being one of them. Giving Cloudmist a look that asked her to give Stormpaw a break, he turned his back on Cloudmist and and touched Stormpaw’s shoulder with his tail.
“Look, I know what you did was bad, but everyone messed up once in awhile. As long as you resolve to be a better cat and not repeat your mistakes, I don’t see why it should be held against you. I wouldn’t hold it against you.” He replied in an equally soft voice. Snowleaf came over then and he echoed Stormpaw’s greeting even though he was in a different Clan. Hearing Twilightsong’s words he sighed. Sounds good to me. I saw we just get going already.” He whispered to Stormpaw as he looked at the sky worriedly. It looked like it was going to rain really soon.

"You can "update" me on anything you want." She purred out suggestively, voice pitched to where only he could hear. Of course she was only kidding, but she had a feeling that her deputy's position would be priceless. Reluctantly, she sheathed her claws and released his tail, though she still grinned impishly at his back. "I can take over now, ya know. Or would you rather to take over until we leave?" She told him more seriously, silver eyes twinkling. She took a step back to allow the large tom room to walk, though her ears caught on to the discussion between the cats and she listened in wisely. Twilightsong piped in quietly with his own opinion and pride in him swelled in her chest. His tone of voice was slightly impatient and while it probably wasn't appropriate, she would probably have responded in the say way. She had made a good choice in her new deputy.

Scarletstar stood up and dipped her head to Heatherpaw and Twilightsong. Waving her fluffy red tail, she called "I agree with Twilightsong and Heatherpaw. It would be safer to travel together untill we reach Korkea Maa. I suggest we move quickly. The storm is getting closer every minute." She looked up at the dark sky, emphasizing her point.
Blitzfire nodded in agreement with Skysong. "Lets just get on with it." He muttered, eager to get started. Just as he finished speaking, the first drop of water fell on his ear. Looking into the sky, he noticed the clouds getting closer.

Windpaw listened to the meeting with a little boredom on her brown-white face. Why did a meeting about something as interesting as a giant storm, and then all the tension between StormClan and EmberClan, have to turn into a borefest complete with arguments and debates? The she-cat had her patient moments, but she didn't like waiting around idly while an endangerment to all the Clans drew nearer and nearer. Not wanting to disrespect the leaders and other cats, she didn't say anything, but Windpaw was universally relieved when she was spoken to. "Hey," She replied earnestly to Pinestorm.
Heatherpaw nodded, listening to Twilightsong. That was perfect; they could face the rogues much more efficiently, supposing that was necessary, if they were all together. Not that she was clingy in the least, in fact always the opposite, but she drew comfort from having all her friends nearby. They weren't all in EmberClan; she definitely had friends in other Clans, made especially so by the fact that she was a medicine cat apprentice. "So then, shall we be underway if it is decided?"
((While typing this, I had a sudden urge to type in first person for Heatherpaw. I wonder if it would be too upsetting if I tried that at some point...))

Stormpaw noticed Oakpaw glancing worriedly at the sky, and she had to struggle to refrain from doing so herself. The scent of rain was heavy on the wind, and she shuddered. She hated getting wet! The grey apprentice nodded. "Yeah, we should leave soon. it looks like the storm will break today." She winced as she realized that what she had said would probably only worry him more, and rested her tail on his shoulder to try to cheer him up. "It'll be okay once we reach Korkea Maa."
ooc- Sorry, short.

Pinestorm racked his brains for a moment, trying to remember the young apprentice's name. "Windpaw, right?" he mewed at last. Kneading the ground with his paws impatiently, he mewed, "I hope we get going soon." Pinestorm was not known for his patience, unlike his mother, Seamist.
"I'm Shadowfire," he mewed back. At Twilightsong's words, he swivelled an ear to catch what was being said more clearly. It would be safer to travel as a large group, he thought, silently agreeing with the ShoreClan deputy.

Crystalpool heard what Twilightsong said. That's true... she thought. The medicine cat turned back to Shadowfire. "Well, nice to meet you," She said, smiling faintly. She looked around, not regonizing anyone. Crystalpool admired all the warriors from all clans. So strong and not shy and quiet and cowardly.

Windpaw nodded, grinning at Pinestorm. "And you're Pinestorm. You're my mentor's mate." Proud of herself that she remembered that, she imperiously looked up at the sky. Bravado gone as the ugly thick clouds gathered above her, a rumble of thunder caused her to jump a little. Wow, that's coming fast... I'm TERRIFIED of storms! She ducked her head, as if that would do something to protect her against the thunderhead hurtling towards Fourtrees, just as a raindrop plitted on her nose. Windpaw had to put her tail over her mouth to keep from meowing aloud in distress. Inside she was laughing at herself, but nothing scared her more than rain, except perhaps hawks. Ever since she was little and she had been picked up by a hawk, and almost carried away, she continually restrained a mortal fear of the carnivorous birds. She had only been saved by a quick move by a warrior who jumped up and hooked her claws on it, dragging it down and killing it. Windpaw shifted her caribbean-blue eyes to the leaders. Could they hurry, so maybe the risk of storms or hawks coming could be less?

OOC: Whattheheck? Really? xD Pinestorm fought to keep his whiskers from twitching as he watched the young she-cat duck her head in fear. "Don't worry, I'm sure we'll get going soon," he mewed sympathetically, and flicked her ear with his tail teasingly. He glanced up at the darkening skies. At this rate, the leaders wold never get going, and they'd all drown while trying to decide what to do next.

"I hope so. The storm will be here soon, I think." Wolffeather said. The air was considerably different. The clouds made it so that the sky had a dark tint to it. It was frightening for some cats, even if they didn't show it.

OOC: ookami, are robinfeather and wolffeather still mates?
Shadowclaw sat and stared into space. He was really bored now, and felt slightly sick. I think I should see Ripplestream after the meeting. he nearly groaned out loud. Shadowclaw rolled onto his belly, tired. He licked his paw tiredly and snorted. "Wow I think I'll need too." he voiced quietly.
