Leafstorm was by a oak tree, in the shade, waiting for Dreampaw to arrive. Where is she? he thought. I told her to be here at dawn... he twitched his tail in annoyance. Be calm Leafstorm, she's probably just as nervous as you are... He thought. Or maybe it's just me? He shook the thought away and waited patiently for Dreampaw to arrive.

The fair weather pounded at Dreampaw's cheeks as the new apprentice sprinted to the Oak Grove. I'm late... she hurtled over the rise and crashed into Leafstorm. "Whoops..." she skidded to a halt, spraying dirt everywhere. Hmm, he's looking nervous. That's good. I can mock him.. "Hey, are you sleepy?" she mewed mockingly. "Should have got some more sleep.." Hey, it's what he told me last night. 'Or you're just nervous because I was a rogue and might claw your ears off?" she smirked.

Leafstorm was shoocked for a moment and said, "I am not...well a little...I mean i've never trained anyone before..." He saw her smirk and said, "Well rogue or not I BET I could pin you right here and now. " He suddenly pounced hard on her and pinned her. He smirked this time, "Ha! Try to push me off of you." He thought, ' This should be easy...' he kept his smirk up.

Dreampaw's breath was knocked from her. Okay, you are dead. Pummeling with her hindpaws, she tried to push him off. "Gar... garoff-" she meowed angrily as she frantically tried ro escape. Lump of fur, she thought. Spends too much time doing really pointless stuff.

Leafstorm finnaly got off of her and said, "You got alot to learn about getting pinned, here you get on top of me and i'll show you what to do? OK?" Leafstorm could sense her anger, and he said, "Yes anger is good too,it makes your attacks stronger." He smiled at her again and said, "Ok, pin me.." He stood stiff, waiting for her blow.

Dreampaw narrowed her eyes. Pin me. Ha, would she? She nearly killed an EmberClan apprentice and seriously injured a warrior. (We have to remember not to gmode) Dreampaw lunged at him, and let herself fly. Down, down, down... The beautiful she cat had leapt short. Her paws scrabbled at nothing, and she hit hard ground, one paw grasping Leafstorn's tail. Ack. I did it right hurting Dawndew!?!? What happened? "You know," she picked her words casually. "I did happen to shove a EmberClan warrior off the edge of a cliff...at Korkea Maa..." her voice was crafty as she tried to impress her mentor for missing. "And I nearly killed Dewpaw...So I am feared." Dreampaw wanted to lunge at him again so she did, trying to hit with accuracy. This time she landed almost on top of him, fur half-flying and claws unsheathed. I am clawing your fur off completely this time.NODBODY beats a rogue unless they're a loser...
Well, maybe I should be a bit nicer. He is my mentor. Dreampaw gasped as she rememberred- she was in mid fall. EEps. Back into training mode, the Apprentice swiped her claws at Leafstorm as she landed on his back. (Was that powerplaying?)

Leafstorm yelled, "Ah! Hey I said pin me, not shred me!" He tried to shake her off. 'Boy! She's aggrestive...' he thought. He finally shook her off and said calmly, "Ok, now can you pin me?" He narrowed his eyes at her and said, "Concentrate..." He stood stiff again, waiting for the blow.

Dreampaw rolled her eyes. Well, warriors do get shred sometimes...? She studied her mentor. Fair looking-nice pelt, shining eyes... Shaking her head clear, the young apprentice lunged at Leafstorm, a caterwaul of battle escaping her. Oops, carried away... Biting her jaw to stop herself from continuing, Dreampaw lashed out, baring her fangs at her mentor. I will make my rogue friends proud.

Leafstrom flinched and said, "hey what's wrong with you?" he looked at her conzussed and said, "Are you gonna pen me or not?" he bared his fangs as well. He smiled to show he was just kidding with his apprentice. 'well she was going to be a rogue..' he thought to himself wearily.

Dreampaw flushed slightly and gave a toothy grin before lunging at him, slashing out with her claws as she went by, missing completely except for Leafstorm's tail tip. What is wrong with me? Am I being soft on him because I like him? am his clanmate?!?!?!?! With a small sigh of disbelief, the young apprentice plopped down, seeemingly giving up. This trick better work... fooling a cat to think I gave up...

"wow you really need help in your battleing skills...hey don't give up..." he said to her sypathicly. He sat down and began to groom himself, just to pass sometime. He looked down at her and he asked, "Is there something wrong?" He stood up and walked over to her and flicked her flank with his tail.

Dreampaw clamped her mouth shut. No, no, no, no,no, no, no, no, this is a training session! Aargh! Since when did she go like this? "Um..." Dreampaw flexed her claws in anticipation. When he flicked her flank with his tail she nearly fainted. This couldn't be a regular training session! Hawkstar made a mistake in choosing a mentor...

Leafstorm, waited for her to answer, 'she seems alittle nervous...' he thought. He caught some motion from the corner of his eyes and he looked at it, and it was a squirl. He flicked his tail at Dreampaw to tell her to wait one moment. He crouched down into a hunting positon, and began to stalk his prey. The squeil was close to the big oak and it could just run up there. He stopped suddenly, the squirl had sensed him, he bolted at it right their, and it began to clime the tree. But Leafstorm was too fast for it he climed the tree so fast and he caught the squirl by it's fluffy brown tail and jumped down from the tree with it in his mouth. The squirl was dead. He dropped it when he got back to Dreampaw and he said, "Whew! That was tuff, I thought it would just dash up that tree, before I could kill it..." He looked at her and said, "Ummm, never mind about that Dreampaw, here lets practice your hunting skills..." he nudged her with his head and said, "I bet your a great hunter." he smiled at her and he flicked his tail.

Dreampaw sighed. I hope... "Lets do it!" Dreampaw mewed, less agressive now. Oh pleas send me alone so I can calm down! Sheesh! Twitching her tail, suprisingly it touched Leafstorm's shoulder and she flinched, jumping a rabbit length away. Clumsy! she scolded herself angrily.

Leafstorm looked at Dreampaw and asked, "ok, Dreampaw what's up? Your acting as jumpy as a rabbit." He wondered, 'does she have a crush on me?' he shook the thought off and walked forward, still facing her. He didn't want their apprentice/mentor realationship to be akward...he looked at her straight in the eye with is piercing emrald eyes.
