Kizzy sat atop the fence the boardered the forest. She peered deep into the forest. She had heard tales of the wild cats that lived in the dark woods. Just thinking about what they must be liked made the lush forest seem dark and forboding. She inhaled deeply the rich scents of the forest prey. What must it be like to hunt for your food? she thought. But she was a kittypet, and she had her meals brought to her by her twolegs. But curiosity got the best of her. Kizzy leaped down from the top of the fence and padded into the forest. Her ears where pricked for the slightest sound. She padded forward. Soon she was many fox lengths in to the forest. Just then a crow flew off a branch in a tree and cawed loudly. Suprised Kizzy turned and darted back to the safety of the fence. She bunched her legs and jumped up into the safety of its height. The fur on her back stood on end. 'It's just a bird' she told herself. Why would she be scared of a bird? But she had been suprised by its sudden appearence and loud call. So she paced back and forth, staring into the dark forest, trying to summon up the courage to go back.

The femcat let out a mrrow of amusement. "Afraid of a bird, hmm?" She stalked up to the fence to confront the kittypet. Wanting to be on good terms, she meowed, "My name is Cipher, and I'm a Loner. By the looks, your a kittypet. What's your name?" She asked curiously. The kittypet wasn't so bad... at least she tried to hunt...

Kizzy stared down at the she-cat standing before her. "My name is Kizzy," she tried to sound confident. "and I wasn't afraid of the bird." Kizzy lied. 'it just...er.. startled me. Thats all." Kizzy looked down at the loner. She seemed friendly enough. tentivly, kizzylept down form the fence and padded carefully over. The cat held the scent of forest and wind. 'Do you really live out in the wild?" kizzy asked. She did not understand why a cat would actually choose to live by themselves, when there were plenty of house folk who would want them.

Cipher nodded. "Born in the wild, raised in the wild, and I'll die in the wild." She sized the kittypet up. Kizzy seemed delicate and soft-spoken, nothing like a wild cat/ "Well, Kizzy" she said briskly. "I'm going to give you a tour in the wild. Don't worry, you'll be safe with me." With a wave of her tail, she leaped into the woods.

Kizzy watched the cat pad away into the forest. Did she dare follow her? Kizzy glanced back toward the fence and beyond it her twoleg nest. But she did want to go see what lay beyond the garden. The cat did say she would be safe.... But what dangers could be lurking behind every tree? Pushing these thoughts to the back of her mind, she ran after the rogue. Maybe she would discover that the forest was not as bad as she had thought. But at the same time, maybe it was even worse. Kizzy ran to catch up with Cipher. "Where are we going?" she asked. The wild scents of the forest filled her senses as they padded steadily onward. Birdsong echoed overhead, and she could faintly hear the thunderpath(I dont know what kittypets call it) in the distance. Soon they had left her garden far behind.

"The Fire Meadows." Cipher replied simply, glad the kittypet followed her. Right now, the meadows are covered with lovely red flowers, giving it it's name. I live there." She sighed with a hint of sadness, thinking about her dead brother, Rico, who died and was buried in the famous meadows.
