The moonlight glittered on the grayish-white she-cat. Her huge paws made her quite clumsy, but she kept walking along the stony path. Oh, Rico. she thought sadly.
She entered the beautiful Fire Meadows, remembering the bloody day so many seasons ago. She thought she could still hear his shrees, and she thought she could still tastes and smell the awful smell of the Russet Demon.
A small den lay next to His Grave, her den. Cipher sighed. "Rico," she called in a tear-choked voice. "Where are you?" She hated remembering her dear brother, Rico, but she couldn't help it.
A small crack came from the woods yonder. Cipher spun around, startled. "Rico?" she called softly.

A black tabby padded slowly through the night woods. The shimmering moon glistened off her blueish-green eyes, giving them an eery (or however you spell it ) glow. She crept forward and peered out into a small clearing. Moonlight filled the clearing with light. Pepper could make out a cat, standing in the midst of the red flowers, petals closed, blocking out the night. Not watching where her paws stepped, Pepper set foot on a small twig, which snapped under her weight. She saw the cat jump, then heard her call out quietly. Pepper pushed through the bracken and padded into the clearing.

Cipher hissed. "Who are you?" she spat. She wasn't to fond of cats who intruded. Infact, she felt quite spry, like she wanted to fight. Stalking forward, she released her claws and showed her teeth. "What's your name?" she growled, ready to spring into battle.

Firefly was crouching in the bushes several fox-lengths away from the two cats. He strained his ears, but couldn't make out the low growl of the grayish-white cat. She definitely sounded angry though, and Firefly was eager for a fight. He crawled forward, careful not to make a sound, and stopped close enough to see them clearly. His paws were itching to step out of the clump of ferns and show himself, but instead waited silently.

Cipher snorted. "Another one, eh?" She sized Pepper up. "Well, you, ma'am, seem to weak for a battle." She pointed her tail at the next intruder, Firefly. "And you, sir...." she said without taking her eyes off Pepper. "...Are just asking for trouble." In one or two swift movements, Cipher attacked Firefly.

Firefly gladly unsheathed his claws and sank them into Cipher's shoulders. He may have been small, but he was an exceptional fighter. Rushing filled his ears and he neither saw nor heard, relying mostly on his instincts. A rumbling growl came from his throat and he hissed, "You picked the wrong cat to fight. This will be your last battle."

Cipher released Firefly. "Pardon?" she asked Pepper sweetly. "Stay out of it, Sweetie." With that, she plunged her claws into Firefly's flanks. Blood met her claws. She smiled, and hissed her rage. A glimmer of shame went through her. Rico would not like this....

Firefly heard Pepper's yell, but ignored her. Who was she to tell him what to do? He felt a searing pain in his flanks and felt blood pour from his wounds. Further enraged, he tear at Cipher ferociously. Suddenly he noticed that the she-cat was distracted for a moment and used it to slash a deep cut into her left ear.

((Please no Powerplaying, mistyfur)) Cipher sighed. This cat was a good fighter. I don't need this pile of fox dung. Letting go, she raced away in the woods. That mousebrain! I put territory markers up... the Fire Meadows are mine. She had no Idea where she was heading, but the winds in her fur made her feel good, despite her wounds. Who cares? Who cares!

Pepper stood there watching as the she-cat released the tom and raced into the woods. She twitched her whiskers. Something told her she shoudl have not have crossed the scent lines but why should she care? Nobody could tell her what to do. Pepper sat down and watched the tom carefully. What if he attacked her? She snorted at the thought. She would show him off if he dared to make the slightest gesture of meaness.((yes, I know this is not a word but I cant think of the word I want right now!))

[SORRY!!] Firefly watched Cipher go. He could do this all day, he thought with a satisfied growl. He considered chasing her, but what was the point? She ran away, he was still here, end of story. He was just about to start cleaning his wounds - the she-cat did unfortunately have very sharp claws - when he noticed the other cat on the edge of the meadow let out a snort. He had almost forgotten about her. He whipped around. "And what are you snorting about?" he asked menacingly, advancing forward. His gray and white fur was fluffed out and he stared at her disdainfully. "Missed what just happened, did you? But you don't look like a good fighter. I won't waste my time on you." He turned and started walking away slowly, waiting for the she-cat to reply.

Pepper growled low in her throat. Hiow dare he say she was not a good fighter. She tensed the well built muscles beneath her soft coat. Unsheathing her claws she sunk them into the soft earth. It took all her might not to give a mighty yowl and hurl herself at the tom. She could feel a battle welling up inside her and longed to let it loose, and release the pent up energy on that stupid furball. She watched him stalk away and longed to chase him away, clawing at his hindpaws as he ran. But she held back. There was somthing about this place, this meadow where she stood that seemed haunting, almost eery. It seemed solomn, as if there was something that should not be disturbed. So she simply stood there, and watched as the tom padded away.

Firefly heard the she-cat growl, then felt her suddenly tense, but didn't turned around. That would make him look weak. Anyway, it was time to look for a place to live. Of course, this meadow was fine and all, and he didn't mind fighting a hundred cats, but it just didn't feel right. Firefly couldn't put his paw on what was wrong, but every time he looked around, a tingle went up his spine. Anyway, it wasn't the place in his dream. So, completely ignoring the she-cat, he disappeared into th bushes surrounding Fire Meadow.
