ooc - This thread is for every warrior and apprentice that would like to participate in fishing.
Swallowsong trotted quickly, a happy bounce in her step, towards her own territory and lead all the cats who wanted to participate in the fishing event towards the Western Riverbank. She cast a sidelong glance at the cat beside her. Skystone of ForestClan, she nodded to the older warrior politely. Wait. No, it was SUNstone. Ah, got it now. Whoops. Looking around at all the Clan cats she was about to speak when she remembered that Seamist should be the one organizing this event. She smiled awkwardly at the former deputy and stepped back to let the blue tabby address all the Clan cats.

Seamist slipped next to the tabby she-cat, sensing her discomfort. I wonder if she's nervous? she thought curiously, and almost wondered why, but then stopped. Any cat would be nervous to address such a large group of cats; especially if she had never done so before. "We're supposed to take charge of this event together, remember?" she whispered, amused, as Seamist took up her now customary position at the front of the group. She cast her gaze over the crowd; almost all of the cats who had been at Fourtrees were here, though she could tell that the ShoreClan cats were difinitely more relaxed and confident than the others.
"Alright, then," she mewed, dropping her formal manner. "The rules are simple. The cat who catches the most fish wins the competition. If Swallowsong, me, or any of the other helpers catch you cheating, you will be disqualified. You can fish anywhere on this riverbank, as long as you're on the ShoreClan side." The she-cat added, "As ShoreClan have the most experience in fishing, each warrior will have a handicap of two fish. That is to say, four fish will count as two, three will count as one, and so on. " She could almost hear the groans coming from her Clanmates, and grinned. She waved her tail once, and then intoned, "Begin!"

Stormpaw took a single step towards the edge of the river, movements tight and jangly with nervousness. Abruptly she stopped, as if an invisible wall in the air had arrested all forward movement. Then, so slowly that it was almost imperceptible, she began to edge backwards. No matter that the river was slower here than where she had nearly drowned, back in EmberClan territory; or that the older cats would probably swim out to get her if she happened to fall in. The fear- that cursed, paralyzing fear, was rising up inside her once again. Don't be such a coward! the conscious part of her mind raged. look at you- almost old enough to be a warrior, and terrified by a little stream! But still her paws kept moving, stealthily taking her away from the rushing, gushing, soaking current that held so much terror for her.

Dewpaw eagerly bounded to the Riverbank, eyes bright. Casting Stormpaw a sidelong, confused glance, she stepped so closs to the foaming river it sprayed in her face. "I'm ready." she murmured aloud, and cast a look at the strawberry-blonde she cat smelling of ShoreClan by her side. "Blueberrypaw?" Dewpaw inquired. The other cat blinked. "Uh. . . . Strawberrypaw." Strawberrypaw asserted. Dewpaw stared. "Oh, okay. A ShoreClanner. Right. Yeah. Um." Dewpaw faced the water again.
