Razorpaw crouched low among Preyrocks. He was hoping to become a warrior if he caught a few adders. So far, he hadn't spotted even a scale of a snake.

Stormwing had been hunting nearby when she caught Razorpaw's scent coming from near the Preyrocks. Scraping earth over the mouse that she had just caught, she wandered over in the direction of the apprentice. At first she didn't see him anywhere, but then she realized that he was crouching among the rocks. "Hi, Razorpaw!" she called, walking towards him. "What are you doing?"

Razorpaw waved to the warrior with his tail in greeting. "I'm looking for adders to impress Froststar so she'll make me a warrior." He replied casually, as if he hunted for deadly snakes that could kill him in less than a second everyday. And who's to say he didn't?

Stormwing blinked. "Um... Cool." She had to admit that catching an adder would be impressive, but there must be a slightly less dangerous way to attract the leader's attention, right? Adders were poisonous... She shuddered slightly at the thought. "You haven't seen any yet, have you?" she asked, assuming that Razorpaw hadn't. Stormwing had never seen an adder herself in her entire apprenticeship, but she couldn't honestly say that she minded.

Blizzardpaw hesitated in answering. He knew Stormwing had only been a warrior for a small while. (At least, I think so. Last time I saw her was when Shiningkit stormed off, and she was Stormpaw then.) It would be likely she-d understand his point of view. "No, not really." He consceded, flicking his tail back and forth in irritation. "But I want to be a warrior so bad!" He insisted, not giving the warrior time to reply. "Do you remember that fox attack on the camp? The one Froststar, then Frostflash, killed?" (At least, I think it was Frostflash....)

"Mousebrain!" A clatter of pebbles fell down a steep hill, announcing Blueflames arrival. "You'll be poisoned. Beside, there are better ways to become a warrior." he paused briefly. "Train real hard. That's impressive. Presenting Froststar with a dead adder is quite disgusting, no? It would be nice if you had saved all your clan mates from one, but not hunting for one just to prove a point." The senior warrior flicked his tail.

Stormpaw's eyes widened slightly with surprise as Blueflame appeared at the top of the hill. "hi, Blueflame," she meowed hesitantly. "Well, yeah, I suppose giving the leader an adder would be a little strange..." She didn't know exactly what to say about that. Then she remembered that Razorpaw had asked her a question before. "Oh, the fox attack? Yeah, I remember that." She shivered slightly at the thought, and wondered why the apprentice had brought it up.

Razorpaw sighed and rose from his crouch. "Training could take moons." He answered, looking down ashamedly. "If I was a warrior now, I could protect Shiningkit and the other kits if another fox ever attacked the camp." The image of the fox snapping at his friend as she held on to it's tail flashed into his mind again, and the young tom shuddered involunterilly. "I don't want anything like that to ever happen ever again." He meowed firmly.

Blueflame saw the apprentices point. "How long have you been training?: he asked. Perhaps, maybe, he could have a word with Froststar about the apprentice... He remembered his training. "Yes, training takes a while, but would you want to be a warrior with no experience or a warrior with lots of experience?"

Razorpaw looked down in dismay. "About four moons, I think." He murmured. He hadn't really been paying attention to the time different his apprentice ceremony and now.

"Training does take some time," Stormwing agreed, shifting her paws into a more comfortable position on the hard rock. "But some of it is really fun." She thought about that for a minute, and then realized that most of the fun moments had been while disobeying her mentor: whether sneaking down to the river to fish with Dewpaw or sliding around in the rain on Korkea Maa with Oakleaf. A embarrassed look crossed her face. "Well...
