(Reason I didn't post: I forgot this was here. My bad, ya'll.)
Dipping her head respectfully to her mate, Midnightsong got to her feet silently. She followed the Warrior out of the den, glancing back at Ripplestream and Twilightstar out of the corner of her eye, before exiting the den. She would go to look for Mousepaw near or possibly in the medicine cat den, as it was the most likely place for him to be. Her keen silver eyes spotted the silvery tail of Seamist disappearing out of the clearing that was Shoreclan's den, presumably to hunt.
She debated briefly about telling her to try the southern border, but decided against it. Seamist more than likely wanted to vent my frustration, and Midnightsong couldn't blame her. Approaching the medicine cat den, she called down into the dimly-lit area, "Mousepaw, are you in there? It's urgent." She cocked her head to the side to see if she would hear anything. The den was still warm, so he had been there recently. She sat down primly, and decided to wait.
(Should I bring him into the thread? Also, sorry it's short, but there's was almost nothing for me to do this post. >>)

I'M FINALLY BACK! ;D
Ripplestream sighed inwardly. For StarClan's sake! What more is there to tell? She tried not to growl out loud. "Like Seamist said," her voice was bitter as she thought of the blue tabby, "I was meeting Shadowfire by the StormClan border." Happy? Her normally gentle attitude was long gone and the soft, caring aura usually around her had dissolved quickly with each passing second that she spent with the Clan deputy in their leader's den. In an effort to seem a little calmer she asked Twilightsong, "What else would you like to know? I may or may not be able to answer you," if she had said that to Midnightstar, she would've been kicked out of the Clan without hesitation.

(yay cloudii's back! and sorries for the waitness. RL ish being mean over here. and hmm, I'd say bring Mousepaw here cause I think it might be easier since he'd have to hear all of this anyways... what do you guys think?) Twilightstar felt more than a little weird telling his mate what to do and found himself hoping the kits would grow up faster so they could go back to their original roles. This just felt too weird. Twilightstar was snapped from this train of thought by Ripplestream.
The look on her face showed annoyance and Twilightstar felt his ears lay back. Hey! This isn't any easier for me you know! He felt like growling at her, but he didn't. She's just feeling defensive cause her job's about to be taken away and she's gonna be subject to total clan disgrace. He told himself and soon his anger at her had cooled down so that he didn't want to snap at her anymore.
"Like Seamist said, I was meeting Shadowfire by the StormClan border. What else would you like to know? I may or may not be able to answer you."
Twilightstar stared at Ripplestream. He felt some sympathy for her, but her attitude was making it really hard for him to honestly keep feeling it. Does she WANT to be kicked out of the Clan?? He asked himself incredulously as he blinked and stared at her some more. He finally found his voice and addressed her, his tone showing he was not appreciating her attitude in the slightest.
"Do you want to be kicked out of ShoreClan?" He asked her. "Because if you don't can your attitude, it can be arranged." He said, twitching his tail at knowing what kicking her out would mean, especially to her Apprentice, Mousepaw. "And don't think for two seconds that if you are kicked out of ShoreClan, that you'd be welcomed in StormClan because I assure you, Scarletstar would refuse." He said, quick to kill any idea she had that leaving ShoreClan would mean she could live with Shadowfire in StormClan.
"Now, since I have to spell it out for you, what I was wanting to know, Ripplestream, was when did this start, how long as it been going on and WHY would such a talented Medicine Cat, who's served this Clan for so long, would suddenly turn her back on the very principles she's teaching her Apprentice and have a love affair. And not just any love affair, but one that involves a Warrior from a completely different Clan. That doesn't sound like the Medicine cat, and good friend, Ripplestream that I grew up with." He said, his tail swishing back and forth to show his mood towards her was no longer one of sympathy and that like it or not, she'd better get an attitude adjustment or she'd have no one to blame but herself for what happened next.
(not used to having to RP Twi as being mad, especially not at one of his really good friends. )

-[Ooh ooh! If Ripplestream keeps being "attitude-y" can she be kicked out of the Clan? Please?
Kidding. xD]-
Ripplestream narrowed her eyes and spoke in a soft voice but it was laced with enough steel and ice to seem like she was snarling instead of meowing in a soft tone. "No, I was not thinking of living in StormClan if I WAS kicked out of the Clan." She glared at Twilightsong through amber green eyes, but she tried to calm herself and it wasn't working too well.
"I've been seeing Shadowfire since..." she paused to think for a moment, "Three moons ago." She allowed some sadness into her voice, but really, she was feeling ashamed. Instead of breaking down and begging for forgiveness, the silver blue medicine cat chose to adopt a defensive, angry exterior. She couldn't bring herself to say 'sorry', but instead, she tried putting her feelings into her eyes, although she wasn't exactly ready to say sorry yet.
-[Sorry for the SHORTNESS!]-

Seamist dashed into the forest as soon as she was sure that no cat could see her. Her pounding pawsteps caused more than a few prey-creatures to flee in terror, but she didn't mind. In fact, she wanted them to flee - their fear gave her a savage pleasure. The blue-gray she-cat sprinted until her muscles started to shriek in indignation at being handled so rudely, and she was forced to stop. Panting slightly, she allowed her pace to slow until she finally came to a halt. She allowed her pent-up emotions to fill her mind until she could take it no longer - her anger at finding out that Ripplestream was meeting her brother, and furious rage at her indifference; her supreme irritation at Twilightsong for being so incapable; and finally, her fury at Pebblestone, for dying so suddenly and leaving her to handle this on her own. Seamist let loose one long, horrible scream, laced with anguish and tinged with sorrow, until her throat was raw. (OOC: She can hold her breath for a very long time. ^^) As she finally began to calm down, she felt a little giggle escape her. I haven't screamed like this before...ever! For some reason, her little 'tantrum' had made her feel a lot better. Or maybe I'm just crazy. Now that her head was a lot clearer, she was able to think properly for a change. If Pebblestone was in another Clan, would I still love him? The answer was obvious, and she knew Ripplestream couldn't help it. After all, 'all's fair in love and war'. And Twilightsong wasn't incompetent - when she had been deputy, the first few months had been overwhelming. He's doing the best he can, and his best is better than mine, she thought wryly. And obviously, it wasn't Pebblestone's fault for dying. He had died protecting his Clan, like a true warrior. She was simply insecure. Seamist stood up, and turned in the direction of the ShoreClan camp. Clearly, there were apologies to be doled out.

Mousepaw wandered up to Twilightstar. "Midnightsong told me I was to see you, Twilightstar..." the Apprentice shifted uneasily, Ripplestream was emitting waves of anguish and Twilightstar seemed angry. What was going on? Mousepaw turned to face Ripplestream and then turned back to Twilightsong.
OOC: Yay! I can join! xD Sorry for the short post...

[[[Sorry, I kinda forgot about this thread]]]
Oh great, an audience. Ripplestream shot a glare at Twilightsong, though he missed it 'cause his back was turned at the moment. You just had to bring in my own apprentice in to watch me be humiliated, didn't you? Her amber green eyes met Mousepaw's, sending him something close to, It's okay, you'll be fine. Of course he'll be fine! her silvery tail lashed once, He's not the one who'll get banished from the Clan if he does one little thing wrong again.
She glanced at Twilightsong, twitching her ears as if saying, 'What are you going to do now?' She pricked her ears as she heard a slight rustling outside the den. The silver blue she-cat lifted her head a little and scented the air. Lovely! the medicine cat thought sarcastically, Midnightstar's here too!

Slowly, placing each pawstep on the ground carefully as though she were walking through a minefield, Seamist picked her way along the woody path back to camp. Her eyes gleamed with a new, fiery determination. She felt more like her old self - during these past few moons, she had felt like an older, more depressed version of herself. Her 'little cry' deep in the forest had reignited her inner flame, which was what had made her deputy in the first place.
As she entered the camp, she resisted the urge to flee. The air was thicker than the swamp muck in StormClan territory, and that was saying something. She sat down near the medicine cat's den, next to Midnightstar. From where she was sitting, she could see that Mousepaw had entered the medley. Poor Mousepaw, she thought absently. If Ripplestream leaves, he'll have to take care of things...but he's only been half-trained. She turned to Midnightstar. "Will Ripplestream have to leave?" she mewed, without a trace of bitterness.

(Okay, I've thought this over and this is probably gonna be really unpopular, but this is how Twi would handle it. *pets Ripplestream* Um, if for some reason this decision is just like uber zomg you can't do that!!! lemme know and we can put our heads together and figure out how else to handle this.)
"No, I was not thinking of living in StormClan if I WAS kicked out of the Clan."
If Twilightstar had been a kit, the glare Ripplestream shot him would have sent him scurrying back to the nursery with his tail between his legs. But Twilightstar wasn't a kit anymore and Ripplestream... What exactly she would be when she left this den was solely up to him. Twilightstar was facing a really hard choice as this went beyond punishing Ripplestream's actions, his decision would directly impact the rest of the clan. His one itty bitty tiny consolation was that at least this hadn't happened during leafbare. This gave Mousepaw a few more months to get his paws on the ground, but would it be enough?
"I've been seeing Shadowfire since... Three moons ago."
Ripplestream's reply brought him back to the present and Twilight flicked his gaze over her form. He could see she was struggling to be sorry, but her pride wouldn't allow her to actually go so far as to say it - not yet anyways. He could sort of understand why. This was a rather awkward time for him as well. Being Deputy over Ripplestream was one thing, being Leader and having to punish her was something completely different! Times like this made him wish he wasn't even a Deputy.
"Midnightsong told me I was to see you, Twilightstar..."
Mousepaw's quiet padding made him look over at the blind Medicine Cat Apprentice as he spoke. Twilightstar could see the confusion and ill ease on the Apprentice's face and knew this wouldn't be an easy thing for Mousepaw either. He didn't see Ripplestream's glare, but Twilight felt it. Sighing he twitched his ear as Midnightsong sat down outside and was joining shortly afterwards by a seemingly calmer Seamist. Looking back at Ripplestream, Twilightstar knew he had to make the call.
Watching the Medicine Cat, who was unhappy with the whole proceeding and probably would dearly love to cram something very nasty down his throat right now, Twilightstar carefully considered his options. There was really only 3 options and none of them were better than the others. All had pros and cons.
One, he could do nothing other than put her on a very strict "camp arrest" for awhile and let Mousepaw handle things for a bit. That would be best for the Clan in terms of keeping a Medicine Cat, but for appearance purposes, that would be merely a slap on the wrist for what she'd done.
Two, he could strip her of her rank and basically have her and Mousepaw trade places for awhile. That way Mousepaw would still get training from a talented Medicine Cat while he was still punishing Ripplestream. The bad side to that was undoubtedly going to be Ripplestream and the Clan's reaction. He didn't foresee that decision going over very well no matter how he put it.
The last option was the worst in his mind. That would be stripping her of her rank and kicking her out of the Clan. Not only would Mousepaw being taking over without anyone to help him, that could seriously jeopardize the Clan's health if they fell ill with a half trained Medicine Cat in charge. Not to mention the reaction from the other Clans upon hearing Ripplestream's fate.
Naturally no matter which option he picked, she definitely wouldn't be allowed outside camp without an escort and she was banned from going near the StormClan border. Mousepaw would have to know why this decision was being made too. That should make Clan life pleasant whenever I'm around Ripplestream in the future. He thought wryly to himself. And if that wasn't bad enough, Twilightstar knew he'd be forced to tell the Clan or risk Scarletstar doing it for him at the next Gathering.
Great Starclan, I'd never live that down! No. Ripplestream would most likely hate him for the next year, but he had to tell the Clan now. Wonderful. Of all the times for Midnight to have her kits, couldn't she have waited a few more months?! He thought to himself with a sigh before finally looking back at Ripplestream and Mousepaw. Let's just get this over with. StarClan... HELP! He mentally pleaded before taking a breath and speaking.
"Mousepaw, the reason you're here is because... it's because Ripplestream has broken one of the most sacred rules of StarClan and the Medicine Cat Code." He said with a sigh. "Ripplestream has... has taken a mate. From a different Clan." He forced himself to say. The air in the cave plunged several degrees and Twilightstar did his best to ignore the icy hate coming from Ripplestream's glare at the moment. He didn't know how her frigidness could get any worse, but he knew once he stated his decision, she'd be even more unhappy with him.
Looking over at Ripplestream, Twilightstar was surprised to find he wasn't angry at her. Instead... he felt sorry for her. She'd lived her whole life to serve the Clan as the Medicine Cat and now it was being taken away from her. Twilightstar's eyes implored her to understand why he had to do what he did next.
"Ripplestream, as of this moment you are no longer the Medicine Cat of ShoreClan. However, since Mousepaw still needs training, you will still function as his Mentor, but, you will now take a role as his assistant. When one of us needs treatment, they are to request Mousepaw's help and you are to guide him, but you are not, under any circumstances, to allow yourself to be seen as the Medicine Cat any longer." He said.
"You are forbidden to leave camp without a Warrior escort and under no circumstances are you permitted to be near the StormClan border." Taking a deep breath and feeling like a small part of him was dying inside, he looked back at Mousepaw. He hid his feelings, but those that were close to him like Midnight and Ripplestream, and cared to look, it was obvious he was pained to do this.
"I'm sorry that you must shoulder all of the duties of a Medicine Cat before your training is complete. I don't know if this is what StarClan would wish, but... when you feel ready and think the time is right, let me know and I will perform the Medicine Cat Ceremony and give you your formal name." He said, eyeing the Apprentice. "If there is anything you need, Mousepaw, please, don't hesitate to ask me and I will see what I can do to get you the help you need." He said as he gazed down at the young Apprentice who was no doubt in shock at the moment.
Pausing for a moment, Twilightstar hesitantly went on, wanting to give the poor guy a chance to absorb what had just happened and Ripplestream some time to quit glaring deathwishes at him. "Mousepaw... Ripplestream, I need to call a Clan meeting to let everyone know what has happened. I'm sorry." He said, his voice soft as he apologized. He didn't specify which cat he was apologizing to and hoped the right one understood.
Feeling like his whole body was made of lead, Twilightstar slowly exited the den. The sunlight that shone down almost seemed mocking in a way. Suddenly feeling old before his time, he glanced over at Midnightsong, his eyes telling her what his decision had been and how he'd hated to make it. Perhaps StarClan would look down upon them and decide to give Ripplestream another chance. Otherwise, Twilightstar felt helpless to let her maintain her title. It was something that couldn't be done...
((I hope you don't mind the gmode Cloudii. I assumed she would be giving him a very nasty glare at this point lol, but if not, I'll edit once you post. ^^
And if you guys are cool with my post, I'll call a Clan meeting. We need to have some Warrior/Apprentice ceremonies I think... Or should I just do an OOC post you think?))

(Yay, a novel!)
Will Ripplestream have to leave?"
Distracted by her thoughts, Midnightsong cocked her head to the side absent-mindedly, silent for a long moment after the much-calmer Seamist had ceased to speak. Sliding her silver eyes over to the tempermental she-cat from the tree that had been situated right in front of her, Midnightsong carefully considered her response, not wishing to say anything that could have a domino effect on someone else. Finally, she decided on the truth, as much as it annoyed her.
"I don't know." She answered honestly, her voice soft. She could count on one paw the number of times that phrase had left her lips, and she didn't like it. Midnightsong had always been a cat who preferred to know thoroughly about something so she would be able to give a definite affirmative or negative, and it irritated her whenever she was unable to do so. "Possibly, though I would doubt it. She's a very talented Medicine Cat and Mousepaw is nowhere near ready to take on the full responsibilities as a Medicine Cat yet. Twilightstar will more than likely remove her from her rank." She explained in her soft voice, sounding nonchalant.
She tilted her head slightly when she heard Twilightstar's muffled voice coming from the den. She didn't bother to listen closely to decipher what he was saying, deciding that it was private and if he wished for her to know then he would have asked her to come in, but judging by the tone of his voice, it wasn't good. A slight smile tilted the corners of her lips when she heard the faintest tinge of desperation in her mate's voice, though it would be unheard by other cats. He was probably getting overwhelming with being Shoreclan's Leader right about now, not that she could blame him.
(Er, well. I don't think there are any Warrior ceremonies to be had, though I could be wrong. And I usually just do an OOC post on the High Rock thread because its faster but if you want to do one, knock yourself out. Though, if you wanted, we could boost Devilkit, Morningkit, and Duskkit up to Apprentices...)

Seamist nodded silently to Midnightstar - Midnightsong, she corrected herself. And it's TwilightSTAR, not -song. The blue-gray she-cat then focused her attention on Twilightso-...star's voice. A few words escaped the range of her hearing, but her keen ears caught most of the conversation. ...So she will stay, she thought. Seamist shrugged it off. The Clan still needs her. After all, banishing the medicine cat would be like decapitating part of the force that drove ShoreClan. Though she knew Ripplestream would be having a hard time from now on, she felt sorrier for Mousepaw. His whole world will be turned upside-down, she thought wryly. The poor guy.
Oh, right. The apologies. The she-cat trotted briskly over to Twilightstar as he exited the den, hoping she could catch him before he left to handle more leader business. Actually, she thought that he was probably going to catch a quick snooze - he looked tired out. Well, that's what happens when you try to deal with both me and Ripplestream when we're in a bad mood, she thought, a faint grin forming on her features. "Hello again, Twilightstar." She dipped her head low, with the proper amount of respect that one should show to a leader. "I apologize if I seemed...a tad patronizing before. I do accept your leadership, no matter your age and experience. I was just...slightly troubled before. My mind is now clear and unclouded." She smiled slightly, showing her pointed canines. "And no, I am not 'sucking up'."

Mousepaw staggered back in shock, ambition burned inside him, as well as pain for Ripplestream and happiness that he was finally going to become a Full medicine cat, although the circumstances were a lot different than he had expected, although he wondered how the other Medicine Cats and Apprentices would take it.
"Don't worry Twilightstar, I'll serve the Clan with all my heart, I won't let the Clan down. Although I would like to ask one thing, I assume that Ripplestream is not able to attend the Half Moon meeting at the Moonstone, as Warriors are seldom allowed".
Mousepaw wondered what Crystalpool would say at the meeting, although from the way the situation was going at the moment, StormClan had problems of their own.
