The warm, vibrant Newleaf brightened the medicine cat's spirits and hearkened happiness, beckoning it into the camp to dwell along with the cats. Though it was displaying signs of a heavily heated Greenleaf, the weather was too pretty to worry about what would happen later on in the year to Heathersky. The young she-cat sat outside her den, the sunshine dappled across her silver fur. Her tail curled around herself, she glanced around, hoping she'd spot Shardkit. The kit of Sablespirit, the former rogue, was absolutely brilliant with the herbs.
Heathersky found herself wishing for an apprentice to show about all the wonders of being a medicine cat. She'd never have a mate, being a medicine cat as she was, but she could pass on all of her knowledge to the next generation. That makes me feel pretty old, the she-cat mused humorously, but important. StarClan chose me, and I know they'll accept Shardkit too. Nodding to herself, she roused from her lazy seat outside the den and stretching, arching her spine and padding into the den.
Looking around, she sat, tail slowly flickering back and forth. What to show the inquisitive kit first? Assuming Shardkit ventured into her den, which often did happen. Grinning at the thought, Heathersky began sorting through the herbs with her paws, thinking about when she would ask Sablespirit and Blazestar for an apprentice.

"Shardkit, Shardkit!"
Shardkit jolted awake, to find herslf staring into the teal-colored eyes of her mother, Sablespirit. She opened her maw, yawning. "What is it?" The kit asked politely. Even though Shardkit could be pretty rude and mouthy in front of other cats, it was never the same with her mother, father, or Heathersky.
"It's already sunhigh!" The she-cat purred. "Are you going to sleep the day away?" She turned around to leave. "Well, I'm going hunting. Remember, d--"
"Yeah, I know," The kit sighed. "Don't leave the camp. Just go. I'll be fine. Really." Her mother blinked, and was gone. The kit got up, stretching out her limbs. Really, do they have to treat me like a blind newborn? She padded out of the nursery, looking around the camp. Maybe she'll go visit Heathersky. A shiver of excitement traveled down her spine. Shardkit loved the smell of the herbs in the medicine cat den.
But first, a bite to eat. Shardkit hurried towards the fresh-kill pile and grabbed a small mouse. As she finished in a few quick bites, she saw the medicine cat by her den, sorting hearbs. She gave herself a quick grooming to flatten down her black fur, and trotted towards the den.
"Hello, Heathersky!" She mewed, her one good eye shining. She liked the medicice cat immensley, as hse was the only one besides her paretns to not judge her by her one-eye blindness or weird markings. "What'cha doing?" She asked.

Pushing a small pile of borage aside with one paw, the medicine cat was in the process of pulling some thyme leaves out of a small collection of lavender stalks when Shardkit padded up.
"Hello, Heathersky! What'cha doing?"
Turning and grinning at the kit, the silver she-cat flicked an ear at the piles. "Sometimes my herbs get mixed up with each other. I'm trying to get the majority of them seperated so I can actually find stuff around here." Chuckling a little, she shuffled to the side a little. "Want to help?" StarClan knows I could use the help, heh.

"All right!" The small kit hop-skipped to the piles, careful not to mess them up. Looking at the piles with a scrunched-up thinking face, she moved some juniper berries to their own pile. She batted at some other of the berries towards the small group she made. Looking up at Heathersky with a proud, but slightly questioning look in her eyes, she asked.
"Is that right?" She wasn't entirely sure; they looked the same, but who knows? Maybe one of the berries wasn't the same color as the others, or they had shape-shifting powers... Who knows? Shardkit certainly didn't, although she had an okay idea.

((I'm sorry, took me more than long enough to post XDD))
Nosing some catmint back into its pile, she smiled to herself at Shardkit's energy. She'll make a great apprentice, and an excellent medicine cat someday. I'm sure the sign from StarClan was indicating Shardkit, and she takes a well enough interest in the herbs to prove it. Although the herbs are not all of it, and I must instill a sense for StarClan as well. Her thoughts were interrupted by an inquisition from the kit.
"Is that right?"
Glancing sideways to check, she immediately saw the juniper, back in its place. "Perfect," the medicine cat purred. "Do you know what kind of berry that is?"

Shardkit scrunched up her nose. "Uh... not really...?" She mewed, silently asking for the answer. The small kit always felt at ease when she was with the medicine cat. She made her feel like a real member of Emberclan, not just a former rogue's kit.
(moop, short reply. sumimasen!)

Heathersky smiled fondly. "That's a juniper berry. You can usually tell which one it is because it has a sweet but spicy scent to it, and it's that bluish color." The silver medicine cat wrapped her tail around herself, glancing around for an easier herb. Quickly spotting the poppy flower, she reached out and pulled it closer, patting it in front of Shardkit. "Do you recognize this one?"
((Mine are kinda short too x.x Heathersky needs to talk to Sablespirit. ^.^))
