We're off to see the Wizard...
Devilkit thought wryly, forcing his way through the thick foliage and twisting sticks. The mud he had rolled in had continued to slide off his ebony fur, resulting in large glops of mud on his fur shading his fur brown, and the rest of his fur showing through. He didn't seem to even realize, too intent on shoving his way through the forest to get to the rarely-used twoleg thunder path.
The sounds of his sister and Windpaw crashing through the bushes were barely heard, and the cat in front of could barely be heard. Darned apprentice. Resisting the urge to sulk, Devilkit bounded forward, expecting them to pause at the path any moment now. When they did, he took a moment to catch his breath, before creeping forward. He pawed the mysterious dried gunk consisting of rocks gingerly, half-expecting it to come alive and take a bite out of him or something.
The smell stung his sensitive nose, but he ignored it, too intent on the tar in front of him. Feeling his previous bravado slowly leave him, Devilkit stepped onto the tile crossing it. His cobalt blue eyes spotted a long, thin white strip in the center of the road and he padded towards it eagerly. He nosed at it, noting its different smel. Exploration over, he turned to the others with an eager expression on. "So what're we going to do now? It's no fun just sitting here."

Morningkit trotted jauntily, her little pawsteps crunching leaves on the ground, leaves that had not yet decayed and returned to the earth. Paying almost no attention to where she was going, she absentmindedly followed Devilkit and Blossompaw, her attention span engrossed in her mind. What she was thinking about was that they were going to find something cool and that was what the little gray-blue kit was imagining in her mind. All number of things appeared to her mentally. Maybe they would even stumble on the spot where the precious Buried Treasure was!
When they stopped, she took no notice and kept padding forward, until she realized that her paws were no longer on the soft ground. Instead, they rested on something hard, and she froze. Looking down, the dark, hard stuff was very warm and seemed to have the occasional sparkle in them. Peering very closely, her nose accidentally touched the stuff, and she jumped almost a foot in the air. "MRAOW!" The heat made her nose tingle, and Morningkit flung herself off the abandoned path.
Standing in the dirt, she stared at it with huge blue eyes. Suddenly, she exclaimed, "It looks like a big black snake. Lookit his stripes!" All notion of her fear from the moment before had deserted her. Romping over to the path, she poked it a couple of times with her paw, inspecting it. Wrinkling her nose, she said, "It smells icky."
Last in the little parade of young cats, Windpaw watched their backs, ensuring that no cat was following them. Her pawsteps were nearly silent on the ground, as she tried to avoid making sound, but it probably wouldn't have helped anyways, what with the others making so much more noise. It was probably fine, and she watched Morningkit stride eagerly up to the path, waiting for her reaction. Watching the kitten race back off, a grin widened on her face, she glanced at Devilkit. Padding up to the hard path, she wrinkled her nose involuntarily at the strong stink.
"Well, let's all go fly somewhere," Windpaw said jokingly to the tom kit. Humor lighting her eyes, she blinked a couple of times, considering what looked like a good idea to do.

(my muse deserted me. you've been warned. lol)
Sneaking out of camp had been so easy Blossompaw had wanted to die laughing, however she'd managed to keep quiet and had gleefully led the group to the meadows. She'd come here as a kit once herself and had had a lot of fun until she'd come across a snake. Twilightsong and her foster mom Swallowsong had come to her rescue and she'd been put under camp arrest until she became an Apprentice.
Skirting around the paths so as to make their trail harder to follow, she kept a wary eye and nose out for snakes, but thankfully they all seemed to be staying away from the group. Pausing near an outcropping of rocks, Blossompaw looked around briefly wondering what they could do before turning back and waiting for the others to catch up.
She giggled at Devilkit and Morningkit's reaction to the rocks and had to remember that they'd never been outside camp so everything was new to them. Why, her and Windpaw were sorta like Warriors and the kits were like their Apprentices! Grinning, she puffed out her chest and then noticed most of the mud on her fur had been wiped off by the dew, grass, branches and other stuff. Now she was just a dingy tan color with mud smeared all over her. Nice. Being somewhat of a Miss Priss at times, Blossompaw wrinkled her nose before looking over at Windpaw.
"Well, since Windpaw and I are "experienced" we'll be Warriors and you guys can be our Apprentices! We'll show you around and teach you stuff like our Mentors teach us, cept it'll be much more fun! Right Windpaw?" Blossompaw said with a giggle as she held herself proudly.
