Heatherpaw sat upwind of the cave, ear pressed against a crack in the wall. Obviously there were cats in here, but she couldn't tell if they were awake or not. The crack was not small enough to slip into, however. She had taken care to roll in some wild garlic efore coming; she knew her herbs, and garlic disguised the smell of even the most rotten of crowfood. The medicine cat apprentice put one eye to the tiny hole in the cracked wall, seeing three cats in the enter. She recognized Skypaw immediately; it took her a couple of seconds but she recognized Cloudmist of StormClan and Pinepaw of ShoreClan. She didn't dare move and barely breathed to keep silent as she watched the foxes, debating what to do. She had followed them here but didn't dare get close enough for them to scent or see her.

Skypaw's ear twitched again when her name was called. "I was knocked out, when I woke up, I was here." She answered the question when she was sure no one was watching her.
Streak finished grooming herself and walked over to the middle of the cave, watching the hostages closley. She was looking very hardly at the orange one, certain that she saw her move.

Lightning growled into her sister's ear, "I think they are awake now," she flicked her bushy golden red tail towards the still cats.

Pinepaw's eyes widened when he heard the golden fox speak. "They know we're awake," he hissed softly to himself. Bracing himself, he stood up. "Of course I'm awake," he snapped. "What kind of blind mouse-brain would think I wasn't?"
Shadow hissed softly. She liked this one, and decided that she would torture him herself. "I believe it's time to talk to them," she growled in a dangerously soft voice.

Skypaw tensed when Pinepaw stood up, hoping that he wouldn't do anything stupid. Fear washed through her when the fox spoke, clearly intending to do something horrible to Pinepaw. Worse then the fact that something bad was happening, she also knew that this was only the begining.

Lightning turned to her sister, "Let's do this torture now," she turned to the almost waking cats, "I'll do the one I brought back and you can do the one that's standing?" she suggested. Without waiting for Shadow, the golden red vixen stalked across the floor of the cave to the tortoiseshell cat.
Bracing herself, and telling herself not to appear weak, Cloudmist sat up and faced at fox, "What do you want?" she demanded.

When the fox stalked over to Cloudmist, Heatherpaw tensed. She knew she couldn't do anything against the evil foxes, but what if she could provide a distraction? The EmberClan medicine cat apprentice debated whether or not she would, but she knew she was running out of time. She decided that if the vixen attacked or hurt any of the cats, she would attract their attention, hopefully long enough for the hostage cats to escape.

Skypaw filled with dread at the word 'torture'. From what she could tell, the foxes were not paying much attention to her, but how long would that last? She felt horrible for thinking so selfishly, knowing that even though she was fine- when she stayed still- that other cats were going to be in pain. For now she could not do much about it, but she wished she could.
Streak debated with himself for a moment, then turned away from the orange cat to watch what promised to ba a good show.

Pinepaw narrowed his eyes. What he was going to do probably wasn't smart, but would give the cats time to escape. Sitting in front of Lighting and Shadow deifiantly, he sneered. "Bet you can't catch me," he drawled, trying to make the foxes as mad as possible. "You're just a stupid mouse brain who can't even harm a mouse!" Whirling around just in time, he dodged a blow from the foxes.

ooc- um Seamist, you're powerplaying, none of the foxes attacked yet... unless Shadow did, which wasn't made very clear if that is the case

Viper bounded into the cave, followed by the others from the EmberClan raiding party. "Sorry we're late." He growled. "I was being followed for awhile by a stupid young apprentice. Little orangle and black one."
Yinpaw lifted her head groggily. She sensed many foxes, and a few cats. She opened her eyes and looked around. SHe was in a cave with three other cats and many other foxes. When she heard orange and black apprentice, she knew it was Blitzpaw.

Bones nodded respectfully toward Viper as he arrived. "We have all gathered our hostages." He reported.
Light saw Yinpaw and knew she had to do something. Sadly, she couldnt come up with any way to save the cats. For now she walked slowly to the mouth of the cave and out hoping that every one else was too busy with the cats to notice. She spotted Heatherpaw outside looking into a crack at the captured cats. Light walked up to the apprintice silently and tilted her head. "What are you doing." She whispered in an almost unauditable tone so none of the other foxes would hear.
Shadowfang crouched in the bushes on the other side of the cave, he had followed Viper and being a loner he had left clan boundaries without a problem. The down side was that the clans wouldnt beleive him since he belonged to none of them, but he knew Flameheart would. He listened to the foxes closely. Torture? He thought. Shadowfang had no choice he had to get a clan's help. Oh no. He thought when he spotted a young clan cat being approched by a young fox.

Heatherpaw had been looking into the crack, so she nearly bumped her head on the rock as the vixen approached. She studied the she-fox for a few seconds, her inner sense telling her that this vixen did not mean to harm her. Being a medicine cat apprentice, well, like all medicine cats, there was an inner knowing of intentions. "I am trying to figure out a way to rescue the cats inside there," She replied, almost silently. "I have been thinking perhaps I should provide a distraction, but would that work, or should I go and get my Clan?" Her ear turned in the direction of Shadowfang's bush vantage point but she said nothing.

Light shrugged. "I dont think trying to distaract them is a good idea, you might just get captured and nobody would know where they were." She replied silently. Getting the clan was the best idea, but Light didn't want her family to get hurt.
Shadowfang realized that the young fox wasn't going to hurt Heatherpaw. The black cat walked foward to the apprintice and fox kit, having lived in the loner lands most of his life his scent blended with his surroundings. "Dont try to take on the foxes by yourself, tell your clan where the fox den is, I'll see if I can get the other clans to beleive me and help." He said scenting Emberclan on her. "Most likely the foxes wont kill them if they want answers, at least not for a while. They'll have the best chance of escaping if the clans come to help quickly." Shadowfang meowed.

ooc: Terribly sorry, that WAS Shadow.
Pinepaw's ears twitched. His sharp ears could just barely make out a conversation, and it seemed to be going on...outside a small crack in the wall. Cats! he thought, delighted. Then he froze. He saw the young fox walk voer to the crack, and held his breath. Any minute now... To his surprise, the fox appeared to be talking to the cats. Un-stiffening, he looked back at the foxes.
