Seamist hesitated for a moment before responding. "StarClan called to me," she said simply, and left it at that. With a tired sigh, she sank down onto the mossy floor of the den, and began to lick her many wounds. Her back leg stuck out at an unnatural angle, and her breath caught s she tried to move on her own. Sharp thorns of pain pierced Hazeltear's heart as she saw the extent of Seamist's injuries. She knew her mother had been injured, but not this badly; she had been hiding the pain the whole time. "Take care of her," she murmured to Ripplestream, and backed out of the nest with Pinestorm. OOC: *Huggles back* Is Silversun still with Hazeltear?

Ripplestream went to the herb store and grabbed some comfrey from the stocks. She took some coltsfoot for the breathing, cobwebs, and a marigold and horsetail poultice. "Lie still," she murmured as she gave the former deputy some comfrey. She patted the cobwebs down with a soft paw and purred comfortingly. Quickly applied the poultice, made sure the wounds were all covered and left the two cats with some privacy.
Pebblestone nuzzled his mate's ear and purred. "How are you feeling?" he asked gently. "Why did you even go?" his eyes were a little hurt as he continued, "Why didn't you even tell me? I was so worried!" He twitched his ears and flicked her across the flank lightly with his tail. "Don't EVER do that again!"

Seamist winced, both from her mate's accusations and Ripplestream's healing herbs. "StarClan called," she mewed simply, and left it at that. Her sea-green eyes flashed as she looked at Pebblestone, daring him to complain.

Pebblestone was about to protest, then saw his mate's expression and just narrowed his eyes. "Fine," his tail tip was twitching in annoyance but he purred with happiness. "I'm so glad you're back," the gray tom smiled, though his tail was still twitching.

Seamist's paws suddenly itched to be outside, hunting. She'd even settle for dawn patrol - which she hated. "When can I leave the den?" she mewed to Ripplestream, her voice betraying how desperately she wanted to feel the wind on her pelt and be able to catch her own prey once more.

Ripplestream turned her attention back to Seamist. She sighed inwardly. "About four days or so, maybe later, maybe earlier," she told the warrior. "I know how much you want to get outside and run around like a kit, but you'll have to wait," the medicine cat's voice was tart.
She was annoyed at the way Seamist kept whining to get outside whenever she had an injury. She knew it was normal for the she-cat to want to be outside of the den and ask how long it would be before she could get outside again, but she didn't have to start complaining the moment she came into the den.
ooc - That's how Ripplestream feels; not me ;D

OOC: I know. ;D Seamist forced her neck fur down; she knew she was acting like a kit and not the former deputy, but she longed to be hunting. She BELONGED outside; she wouldn't even care if she had to sleep outside, as long as she was able to breathe fresh air. "All right," she mewed in a carefully flat tone.

Ripplestream made an effort to make her bristling fur lie flat and went out the den to get some fresh-kill from the returning hunting patrol. A fresh mouse may keep her quiet for a little while...maybe make her feel a little better about having to stay in the den for days... the medicine cat quickly grabbed the warm body of a squirrel for Pebblestone and Seamist to share and a small mouse for herself.
"Here you go," she placed the squirrel in front of the two cats and dropped the mouse by her own nest a little ways away. "If there's anything you need, just tell me." She turned and crouched down by her nest and munched on the mouse. Soon it was gone and she began to organize her herbs.

Seamist dipped her head gratefully and finished the squirrel in famished gulps. "Thank you," she mewed in a carefully neutral tone, and made a massive effort to avoid angering Ripplestream further. She sighed. "I'm sorry for being so...tetchy, but I miss the forest. I miss feeling the breeze on my pelt, and basking in the moon's rays," she mewed softly. "For StarClan's sake, I need to be outside. Can you understand that?" She glanced at Ripplestream, feeling like an apprentice all over again.

Ripplestream smiled. "I know that," she meowed quietly. She whispered in her brother's ear quietly, "Take her outside and make sure she comes back at moonhigh at the latest, I want to check on her wounds and she how she's healing." Hopefully she had said that quietly enough as Seamist's hearing was very good. The medicine cat went back to her herbs and didn't say anything more.
Pebblestone waited a moment and asked Ripplestream as if nothing had happened. "Can we go outside for just a little while?" his green eyes glowing in the gathering darkness.
