OOC-A long time ago I put Dreampaw of ForestClan up for adoption. Can she be a sick cat? (Or maybe..die?) I could temporarily RP her here. and she could spread the diasease?
Crystalpool blinked, horrified, as Hawkstar spoke.
"For once, ForestClan has something unusual to report. Several of our cats have fallen ill with a new sickness, something none in our clan have seen before. I'm hoping someone here has heard of it, and can help before it spreads."
Crystalpool searched Scarletstar's gaze. She hadn't seen any sick cats in StormClan. But couldn't she help ForestClan? Pain seared the tabby's heart. She was so into healing and StarClan. It could get her into trouble one day...
But weren't medicine cats supposed to help cats from any clan, any cat in need? She twitched her ears as Adderfang's voice sounded by her.
"I bet Songheart will have Lampaw and Arrowpaw's tails off." she nudged the pretty silver tabby to look at Arrowpaw and Lambpaw, sprinting in.
""Everyone calm down! Panicking won't solve anything and don't blame ForestClan. Hawkstar and some of her clan had to come to warn us of these matters. ShoreClan doesn't have anyone sick so far so there's hope that it won't spread. However ShoreClan will take extra precautions to ensure the safety of the Clan and we will step up our patrols so we can spot anything that looks suspicious. ShoreClan brings some happier news. We've had a healthy litter of kits."
Okay, at least Crystalpool's clan and ShoreClan was okay. Turning wearily to stare at Blazestar, she hesitantly met Frostflash's eyes, her eyes full of desperate hope.
What are you, a EmberClan warrior?
She chided with herself. Adderfang followed her gaze to the EmberClan deputy's and he shuffled his paws. He tore his gaze away, but Crystalpool still stared at Frostflash, awaiting an answer.
Crystalpool was suddenly in her den. Cats were breathing violently, eyes flickering desperately at her. The medicine cat was helpless to them, herbs around her, useless. One cat she knew too well. Adderfang.
Gulping nervously, she pushed poppy seeds over to her patients.
"Eat them. You must not feel any pain." she whispered shakily. Adderfang gave her a weak smile.
"You can help us, Crystalpool. I have to believe in that, or everything is lost."
Oh, pul-leeze. Did she need any more pressure? But Adderfang's words were filled with understanding. God. Couldn't she just tell Scarletstar: "Sorry, I've failed. These cats are as good as dead."
Yeah. Double pul-leeze. Crystalpool had felt the pain, the loss of a medicine cat countless times, she had failed many cats that were now in StarClan. Swallowing nervously, she turned back to her herb store.
Believe, Crystalpool.
The medicine cat was back at Fourtrees, and was looking at Frostflash wearily again. Swallowing in new determination, one though swept through her mind.
I can't let any cat die from the sickness.
"Shadowpaw," she mewed to her apprentice, looking away from the EmberClan she-cat momentarily. "Do you remember any cats falling...sick with this disease? Her voice was uneasy as she spoke, eyes flashing with concern at Adderfang, who seemed perfectly fine. At the moment.
"StormClan has four new apprentices, Chocolatepaw, Arrowpaw, Lambpaw, and Badgerpaw. Otherwise, there is nothing to report."
Briefly, Crystalpool's heart lightened as Scarletstar spoke but it dropped like a stone again when Adderfang bounded away.
Strawberrypaw gaze admiringly at the leaders. She didn't understand the trouble that was pulsing off the cats and fogging up the air.
Oh, I've never seen diesease!
She searched the ShoreClan crowd for her mentor, Nightfrost.
Diesease must be important, everyone is so pumped now.
The former kittypet, and now ShoreClan appprentice, quizzically twitched her ears.
Dewpaw was terrified of diesease. She squeaked out a curse under her breath.
The last thing we need during a perfect season is a diesease. Ha. Give me a break.
Snorting, Dewpaw licked one white paw. The moonlight played across it, turning it a pale gray. Her ginger fur was swept my the silverlight, making it like dark flame. Drawing in the shadowed scenery of Fourtrees, for this was Dewpaw's first Gathering, the ginger apprentice noticed the four trees, drooping protectively over the clearing. Shadows danced across the ground, flickering and reflecting in cats' eyes. She had almost forgotten about ForestClan's problem as she stared at the springy grass. Suddenly, she felt herself pacing and bumped into a pale cream ShoreClan apprentice.
"Jeez, move your butt!" snapped Dewpaw, feeling pretty annoyed. The cream she cat's eyes coldly flashed at her.
"I wasn't the one pacing, dimwit!" she retorted, flexing her unsheathed claws. Somehow she smelled different... a bit like Twolegs? Dewpaw cleared her mind by shaking it angrily.
C'mon. You go girl. Once in a fight, you're always the winner.
Dewpaw let her claws slid out, but was stopped when a StormClan warrior hurled himself between the two.
"What do you youngesters not understand about a truce?" he hissed, though a bit kindly. Dewpaw gave a low growl and turned back to look at the leaders, eyes flaring.
If there wasn't a truce, I would just claw the fur off that mangy, flearidden excuse of a cat.
She vowed under her breath, scraping the dirt with her sharp claws.
Adderfang strode away from Strawberrypaw and Dewpaw to sit by Arrowpaw and Lambpaw, who were by an EmberClan cat Shadowjumper.
OOC2: Or I could just...roleplay Dreampaw agian?
